Veteran Banker Lowell Campbell Appointed Trustee of the Jamaica College Trust

KINGSTON, Jamaica

Lowell Campbell, a seasoned financial executive with more than 30 years of expertise in banking operations, technology transformation, and regulatory compliance, has been appointed to the Jamaica College Trust as a director and trustee.

Campbell currently serves as Senior Vice President at Citigroup and brings extensive global experience from previous executive roles at JP Morgan and Deutsche Bank in New York.

A Trusted Steward of Education and Finance

Chairman of the Jamaica College Trust, Derek Jones, made the announcement and praised Campbell’s appointment:

“It is an honour to have this distinguished JC Old Boy join the board of the Jamaica College Trust. The income from the Trust provides assistance to the school as well as occasional capital contributions. Trustees are stewards of these funds, and we are delighted to be joined by someone of Lowell’s expertise and history.”

Campbell, a 1978 graduate of Jamaica College, replaces Dr Peter Weller, a respected regional psychologist who recently retired after many years of dedicated service as a trustee.

Deep Roots in the JC Community and Beyond

Campbell has long demonstrated a strong commitment to educational advancement, particularly through the Jamaica College Old Boys’ Association of New York, where he is a founding member, former Secretary, and currently serves as Advisory Board Chairman.

He is also a founding member and past Treasurer of the Union of Jamaican Alumni Associations (USA) Inc., further reflecting his unwavering dedication to strengthening Jamaican educational institutions across the diaspora.

In addition, he has held leadership positions in civic organizations such as United Way, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Inroads, Junior Achievement, and Toastmasters International, promoting youth mentorship and community development.

Humble Leadership and a New Chapter

Reacting to his appointment, Campbell expressed both gratitude and a deep sense of duty:

“I am fully committed to Jamaica College and have been involved in several different posts over the years. This is an utmost privilege for me, and I will do my best to work with the other Trustees in achieving the objectives of the Trust.”
